Since the founding of the School of Life Sciences, we have hosted 93 national and provincial/ministerial research projects including 973, 863, national natural science foundation, national scientific and technological research breakthrough projects, international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, etc, with a total sum of research funds at around RMB 475 million. The school hosted 68 government sponsored research projects with a total funding of RMB 411.8 million in the last 5 years, including 40 national programs (RMB 371.2 million) and 16 provincial/ministerial programs (RMB 3.39 million). The average research fund per year is RMB 9.4954 million.
In the last 5 years, the school has published 168 papers as first author/contact, 116 of which are on SCI journals. 1 paper has been accepted by Molecular Biology and Evolution, a top-ranking journal in biology discipline. The school also published 11 patents and 6 textbooks and monographs. On account of the extraordinary achievements listed above, the School of Life Sciences has been awarded with the second class Science and Technology Award in 2014 and Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015.
